1. President Buhari Sends Six Executive Bills To The National Assembly

President Muhammadu Buhari has transmitted six executive bills to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.

This was confirmed on Tuesday by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan who read the President’s letter on the floor during plenary.

2. DSS Reveals Fresh Facts About Sowore’s Continued Detention

The Department of State Services, on Tuesday while speaking on its decision to detain the convener of the “RevolutionNow” movement, Omoyele Sowore, stated that he could be knocked down by a vehicle on his way out if eventually released.

The development was made known by the spokesperson of DSS, Peter Afunanya while speaking with newsmen in Abuja.

3. Jonathan’s Team Speaks On His Defection To APC

The alleged report claiming that the former President, Goodluck Jonathan has concluded plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress has been debunked by his media team.

Following the reported disagreement between the Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson and the former President, there have been speculations that Jonathan supported the candidate of APC, David Lyon in the November 16 governorship election and also celebrated his victory.

4. Thugs Burn Kogi PDP Women Leader To Death

Mrs Acheju Abuh, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women leader for Wada/Aro Campaign Council has been set ablaze by suspected political thugs.

It is understood that she was set ablaze while in her home at Ochadamu in Ofu local government area of Kogi state following last Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

5. I Have Been Receiving Death Threats After Sponsoring Hate Speech Bill – Sen. Abdullahi

The sponsor of the hate speech bill, Senator Aliyu Abdullahi has disclosed that he has been receiving death threats since the bill was re-introduced in the 9th National Assembly.

It will be recalled that Senator Abdullahi, the lawmaker representing Niger North Senatorial District and also doubles as the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate sponsored the bill which has already scaled first reading at the Senate.

6. Bayelsa: Dickson Reveals Next Move, Says Jonathan Remains His ‘Oga’

Governor Seriake Dickson has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will approach the Election Petition Tribunal to challenged the result of the Bayelsa Governorship election.

Naija News reports that the National Electoral Commission (INEC), had declared David Lyon the winner of the Bayelsa Governorship Election.

7. Press Freedom: UNGA President, Bande Finally Reacts To Sowore’s Detention

In support of the Nigerian government’s fight against hate speech, the President of the UN General Assembly (PGA), Amb. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande has cautioned individuals against abusing freedom of expression and association, noting that it is not absolute.

Muhammad-Bande stated this at an interactive session with representatives of civil society organizations at the UN headquarters in New York on Monday.

8. President Buhari Seeks Fast Passage Of Special Crime Court Bill

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday in Abuja called on the National Assembly to hasten the passage of the Special Crimes Court Bil.

The President made the call while speaking at the National summit on Diminishing Corruption in the Public Service organized by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in conjunction with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

9. Atiku Reveals Why Jonathan Is Happy With APC Victory In Bayelsa

Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State has revealed that former President Goodluck Jonathan is happy with the victory of David Lyon in the Bayelsa Governorship election.

10. Sowore: Archbishop Of Canterbury Accepts SERAP’s Letter, Gives Reply

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Revd Justin Peter Welby has acknowledged the letter sent by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, (SERAP) urging him to prevail on President Muhammadu Buhari to obey court orders involving activists Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare who remain in arbitrary detention despite a court order for their release.

Speaking on behalf of the world leader of the Anglican Communion through an email, Dominic Goodall, the Chief Correspondence Officer at the Lambeth Palace revealed that the letter was received by the archbishop through him.
