Mohbad: Another Radio Station Bans Naira Marley's Songs

Popular Nigerian singer, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, with the stage name Naira Marley, has said that he has no connection with the world’s deadliest terrorist group, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Naira Marley explained that though he is a Muslim, Islamic State does not represent him or his religion.

Speaking via a tweet on Tuesday, the singer, who is currently observing Ramadan, wrote, “I am a Muslim but ISIS does not represent me or my religion.”

Naija News recalls that Naira Marley once influenced a cult-like movement called “Marlians.” His followers at that time were known for their wayward dressings and crazy lifestyles.

However, there was no report of violence by his cult-like fanbase.

The movement began to decline after Naira Marley’s fame and influence dwindled.

Marley now uses his social media pages to preach about religion and morality.

Mohbad Became Suicidal Over Issue With Naira Marley

Meanwhile, Akinbiyi Ahmed popularly known as Bella Shmurda alleged that singer Mohbad was suicidal following the rift with Naira Marley’s Marlian Music.

Naija News reports that the 24-year-old music star made this known in an interview with Chude Jideonwo.

Speaking on why he took sides with Mohbad, Shmurda said, “Mohbad is my bro, and before I spoke out, I had been in this thing.

“Though it was low-key. I saw what happened, even from the first time till this second time. I have always been in the loop of things, but at that point, someone had to speak for him.

“At a point, myself and Mohbad were in an apartment, and he said he wanted to jump from upstairs.”

He added that Mohbad’s attempt to take his own life was thwarted by his girlfriend who got in just in time.
