Breaking: Senate Passes Nigerian Peace Corps Bill
The Nigerian Senate today 25 July, passed the Nigerian Peace Corps bill on an advice by the committee on judiciary, human rights and legal matters.
The upper legislative chamber adopted a conference committee report on the bill before passing the bill.
The bill which had been long overdue had suffered a lot of setback in the past.
Naija News recall that in May, Nigerian Senate, postponed the passage of Nigerian Peace Corps Bill, over the allegation of fraud in the recruitment exercise by the organisation.

The report was presented by Bayero Nafada, a lawmaker from Gombe state. The bill will be forwarded to the president for assent.
Meanwhile the National Commandant of Peace Corps of Nigeria, Ambassador Dickson Akoh, is also standing trial on a 90-count charge bordering on alleged extortion and operating an outlaw organisation.
