Finally, Osinbajo assigns portfolios to new ministers
-Osinbajo assigns portfolios to new ministers.
Acting President,Yemi Osinbajo, has today, Wednesday, assigned portfolios to the two new ministers, namely, Stephen Ocheni (Kogi) and Suleiman Hassan (Gombe) who were sworn in to the Federal Executive Council 22 days ago.
As reported by Naija News, Stephen Ocheni from Kogi State, replaces the late labour minister, James Ocholi who died in a car accident in March, 2016, and Suleiman Hassan from Gombe State replaces former Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed who resigned to serve as Deputy Secretary-General of United Nations.
Both had earlier been screened and confirmed by the Senate in May and have been waiting to be brought into the federal cabinet.
The new development was made known to newsmen via the Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande in his tweeter handle.
Ocheni was named Minister of State, Labour and Employment; while Hassan was named Minister of State, Power, Works and Housing.
With this new development,”There are now two ministers of state in Power, Works and Housing ministries,” Akande said.
