Wrestling Champion, Power Uti, arrested in connection to wife’s death

Nigerian wrestling champion, Power Uti has been apprehended by the Police, over the death of his wife, Toyin who passed on in their home in the Ilupeju area of Lagos state.

Power Uti was reported to have discovered his wife’s body on Monday morning. Rather than take her to the hospital, the wrestler sought spiritual help from a church.

Late Toyin (38) was an unemployed mother of four children, all below the age of nine.

The deceased had been married for 10 years to Uti until her death.

Toyin’s corpse has been taken to the Isolo general hospital, while her four children have been placed in the care of her mother.

Reacting, Police Public Relations Officer, Famous Cole said that Power Uti was being detained at the Ilupeju Police station adding that the case would be transferred to the Criminal Investigative Department, Panti in Lagos today.
