FRSC commissions special marshals ahead of end-of-year festivities
FRSC commissions special marshals ahead of ember festivities.
The Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) has on Tuesday yet again commissioned volunteers popularly known as special marshals.
The volunteers, who were 150 in number, were commissioned as part of the measures put in place by the FRSC to reduce to the barest minimum, road accidents during the ember months.
Some notable persons were also inducted including well-known lawyer, Afe Babalola and the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Mr Samuel Oyebandele.
Corp Marshal Boboye Oyeyemi commended the contributions of the special marshal to safety operations on Nigerian roads.

He vowed that special marshal will not concede in its efforts to return sanity to Nigerian roads.
“Induction of the Special Marshal would really help us in Nigeria to reduce the accident rate and workload on the FRSC in EKITI and Nigeria at large, we should also encourage more individuals who are willing to serve the nation,” he said via his National Coordinator, Mr Stephen Kwange.
Advising the newly commissioned marshals, the state coordinator of Special Marshal, Mrs Folake Adebayo told them to ensure that road offenders are punished in line with the laid down law.
According to her, “I want to use this opportunity to urge all inductees to please attend to any issues relating to road accident and road offenders very seriously and ensure there are brought to book.”
