PDP Chair: Bode George campaigns in Delta State
PDP Chair: Bode George seeks the support of the Delta people.
An aspirant for position of the national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George has appealed to party delegates in Delta state to support his chairmanship bid, ahead of the party’s national convention.
George visited Asaba, the Delta State capital, on Wednesday, requesting party members to support him in the PDP convention slated for December.
Speaking with the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa during a courtesy call, George expressed the need to ensure a free, fair and credible electoral process in order to avoid the party’s past mistakes.
Naija News recalls that the PDP chieftain’s campaign team had on Tuesday claimed that the national chairman of the party’s caretaker committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, had allegedly conferred undue advantage on one of his contenders from the South-South region.

Receiving the Chief George, Gov. Okowa assured that officers of the PDP would emerge through free, fair and transparent process.
He said: “We are a very organised political party, we believe that the process of choosing our officers at the national convention will be free, fair and transparent, everyone has to ensure that it is a fair process to move the party forward,” he said.
According to Okowa, owing to the reputable persons contesting for different positions, the democratic process is evidently being followed by the party.
The governor applauded Chief George for creating time to campaign across the nation, adding that this would awaken the consciousness of PDP members and aid the stability of the party.
