SSS Arrests Kidnappers, Rescues 3-Yr-Old
Three-year-old boy rescued in Kano.
Operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) in Kano, have rescued a three-year-old boy from the hands of the kidnappers.
Naija News gathered that the boy was in the den of the kidnappers for 11 days.
The service state director, Alhassan Muhammmad, said operatives of the service rescued him after receiving a letter from a lawyer about his abduction on December 8.
Muhammad said the kidnappers lived in the same area with the victim, adding that the suspects initially demanded for a ransom of N20 million before reducing it. He said the family paid N200,000 as ransom to the abductors on December 11.
According to him, operatives recovered part of the cash including a toy gun, knife and mask.
He said the three suspects- Abba Tijani 17, a secondary school student; Jamilu Alhassan, who claimed to be a student at the Bayero University, Kano; and Umar Salisu, 27, confessed to the crime and added that they would be taken to court after investigations are concluded.
The father of the victim therefore, commended the SSS for rescuing his child, “just two days after sending them a letter to that effect.”
It was learnt that the leader of the syndicate, Salisu, said they decided to engage in crime after frequent watching of foreign movies.
