1. Boko Haram: 13 Chibok girls die in captivity
Snake bite, hunger and malaria has led to the death of 13 out of the 276 Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2014.
This is according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
2. Fuel Scarcity: Marketers claim their depots are empty
The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association, DAPPMA,has claimed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has been unable to send petrol to its members’ depots.
A statement in Lagos by its executive secretary, explained this accounts for the fuel shortage been experienced in the country.
3. PDP demands Buhari’s resignation over age controversy
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party has called on President Buhari to resign as the country’s president over controversies surrounding his actual age.
The party has asked INEC to verify Buhari’s real age based on certificates and other documents submitted to the commission.
4. Police man opens fire on colleague in Bayelsa
A policeman attached to the Bayelsa state police command, mistakenly shot dead another officer during a fight against cultists in the state.
The police have promised full scale investigation into circumstances surrounding the shooting.
5. Boko Haram: FG spends N15m daily to fuel fighter jets
The minister of information, Lai Mohammed, has revealed the federal government spends up to N15m on a daily basis to fuel fighter jets in the battle against Boko Haram insurgents.
He stated this in defense of the $1b voted by the state governments to combat insecurity in the country.

Some Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governors have disclosed why they gave their support to Uche Secondus to emerge as the national chairman of the party.
According to the governors, they backed Secondus because of his truthfulness, character and strength.
7. Dogara gets N300m donation during book launch to mark 50th birthday celebration
An event to celebrate Yakubu Dogara’s 50th birthday and the unveiling of a book, titled, Dogara: A Real Made Flint, held on Tuesday.
Over N300m was raised at the event which is to be donated to charity, especially the internally displaced persons.
8. Seven killed as communities clash in Cross River state.
At least seven people have been left dead as a result of a clash between Uyanga and Ojoh communities in Cross River state, properties worth millions destroyed and the town where the violence occurred, deserted.
9. Manchester United avoid embarrassing defeat against Burnley
Burnley FC almost claimed a famous victory against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in a boxing day premier league encounter.
United were however, able to rescue a point from the game courtesy of a late Jesse Lingard goal.
10. Ngolo Kante emerges best French Player
Chelsea midfielder, Ngolo Kante received 92 votes to scoop the 2017 French player of the year award.
Kylian Mbappe of PSG came in second with 87 votes.
