Nigerian Army Arrest Benue Militia, Recover Weapons
Nine members of some sponsored Benue state militia known as Civilian Joint Task Force have been arrested by troops of the 93 Battalion in Takum area of Taraba state
The group was reportedly arrested at Arufu, a town that falls between Benue and Taraba states.
Found in the possession of five of the militia were AK-47 riffles.
Despite the arrival of reinforcement to stop the troops from arresting the CJTF’s, the military officers insisted that they must be arrested.
During the questioning of the suspected militia it was discovered that the group had members of about 60 men camped in Gbeyi, Benue state.
Naija News also learnt that over 1,000 of the gang members were positioned at different camps while 700 out of them have arms.
The group said they were being trained by some ex-service men assembled all over Benue state.
