Benue Killings: Women Protest In Markurdi, Make Plea To FG
Following the attack and killings of innocent Benue residents allegedly by herdsmen, a group called Nigeria NGO Network on Humanitarian Development Initiative (NINGONET) has expressed concerns over the incessant killing of women and children.
Leading hundreds of women to the Government House in Makurdi, NINGONET President, Josephine Habba, express their grievances over the attacks, stating that despite warning signs given to the Federal Government by the State Government, nothing was done.
She said: “We are condemning these killings not only in Benue alone but all other states where killings of women and children are taking place across the country.
“We are therefore imploring the federal government and the international partners to spread their humanitarian intervention beyond the north eastern part of Nigeria.”
Speaking for Jireh Doo Foundation, Jennifer Igoh commiserated with families of victims who lost their lives in the fatal attacks.
