17 Killed, 50 Injured As Suspected Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Yobe Community
Despite declaration by the Nigerian Army, that Boko Haram has been defeated, suspected members of the dreaded group, have ambushed Dapchi community in Bursari Local Government Area of Yobe State, North-east Nigeria.
The attack was confirmed on Monday, by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Sumonu Abdullmaliki.
Abdullmaliki explained that the attack happened on Monday evening, adding that security operatives are already on top of the situation.
However, the CP stated that details of the attack are yet to be fully ascertained.
The attack in Dapchi which occurred on Friday last week, has resulted in the death of 17 persons with about 50 other persons sustaining injuries, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) revealed.
Dapchi is 100KMs north of Damaturu, the state capital, and it remains one major town that has not recorded an attack by the terrorists since the start of the insurgency in the troubled region.
