Dambazau Holds Meeting With IGP Idris, Other Top Police Officers
The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Danbazau, is in a meeting with the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris and senior police officers at the Force Headquarters, in Abuja.
The objective of the meeting is to devise strategies to stop illegal weapons which Idris described as becoming alarming in Nigeria, Daily Sun reported.
The IGP added that with the upcoming general elections slated to hold early next year, it is imperative for the police and other security agencies to curb illegal arms, which he insisted, were wrong hands.
IGP Idris had also condemned the arming of vigilance groups put in place by some state governors to protect lives and property of their citizens.
