Liverpool Holds Everton To A 0-0 Draw

Liverpool has extended it unbeaten run in Merseyside Derby after forcing Everton to a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park.
Though Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino did not feature in a Liverpool starting line-up which included five changes from the one that faced Manchester City in midweek, Liverpool, however consolidated it hold on the third place on the English Premier League table.
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, pull off impressive saves to put the Liverpool team at bay during the first half of the match.
Wayne Rooney was clearly unhappy to be substituted for the fit-again Idrissa Gueye early in the second half but the impetus remained with Liverpool, who brought on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Firmino.
Everton manager Sam Allardyce said the need to pull Wayne Rooney off the match was due to the need to introduce fresh legs into the Midfield.
“I make the decisions and I thought we did the right thing to make those changes to give us a better chance,” he said.
Liverpool remained on third place as Tottenham Hotspur defeated Stoke City 2-1.
