257 Dead As Plane Crashes In Algeria
A military aircraft which crashed outside Algiers, the Algerian capital has claimed the lives of No fewer than 257 people.
Naija News learnt that the plane which was said to be headed to Tindouf in Algeria’s south, home to camps for refugees and was said to be carrying mainly soldiers crashed just some time after it took off.
According to the country’s defence ministry, the victims consisted of 10 crew members and 247 passengers who were mainly soldiers and their families.
The ministry added that Investigations are still been carried out as the reason for the crash is yet to be ascertained
Naija News learnt that 14 Ambulance immediately gravitated towards the scene to rescue injured people.
The crash is the worst in Algeria since 2003 when an Air Algerie jet crashed, killing 102 people.
