Uber Drivers Protest Payment Of 25% Commission To Firm
Uber Drivers Displeased With Increment In Commission
Uber drivers in Ghana are protesting the increment in the percentage of remitted per transport fare to the transport company on Wednesday.
The Uber drivers who showed their grievances with a sit down strike at the offices of Uber in the country, demonstrated against the increment by the transport services company stating that it is unfair.
The twenty-five percent retention of all transport fares remitted to Uber which was seen as unfair was revealed to render their businesses unprofitable, Citi Business News reports.
The drivers who took on strike as a way of showing their pain indicated that they were compelled to take the action, in response to the company’s refusal to act.
Uber has been operating in Ghana for about a year now. Officials of Uber are however, yet to make any formal comment on the latest concerns of the Uber drivers.
Meanwhile, as earlier reported by Naija News, Nigerian R and B star, Banky W, has been appointed as a Uber ambassador.
