Historic Trump-Kim summit set for Jun 12 in Singapore
U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that his meeting with North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-Un would take place in Singapore on June 12.
Trump, who made the announcement on his Twitter handle said he and Kim would “try to make it a very special moment for world peace”

Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs while reacting to date in a statement earlier today, said the country is pleased to host the meeting. “We hope this meeting will advance prospects for peace in the Korean Peninsula,” the ministry added.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong also said the meeting between the two leaders is a significant step on the path to peace. “May it lead to a successful outcome,” he added.

The talks, which are expected to last one day, are set to focus on North Korea’s rapidly advancing nuclear and ballistic weapons programmes. “I think it will be a big success,” Trump said as he boarded Air Force One, on his way to a political rally in Indiana.
