Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole Commiserate With 19 JOHESU Accident Victims
Following a road accident involving 19 Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU members, along the Benin- Auchi road on Saturday, the Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, has comiserated with members of the union.
According to the statement signed by the Assistant Director, Press and Public Relations, Olajide Oshundun, the accident victims are staff of University of Benin Teaching Hospital, (UBTH) chapter of the union,
“40 of the health workers were on their way to a function in Auchi, when the accident occurred.
“The injured victims were subsequently rushed to the Otibho Okhai Hospital in Irrua, Edo state,” it said.
In a statement on Sunday, Minister Adewole wished the injured JOHESU members quick recovery even as he announced that he had been in touch with the Chief Medical Directors of UBTH and Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital on the need to offer comprehensive medical attention to the injured.
Meanwhile Naija News reports that the JOHESU and federal Government are yet to come to any agreement on the ongoing strike which commenced on April 17.
