Melaye returned to Senate plenary today, Wednesday, after long weeks of absence occasioned by injuries sustained during his running saga with the Nigerian Police in a bit to escape arrest.
Naija News recalls Senator Melaye had been in the intensive care department of the National Hospital, Abuja following a court order to that effect.
Raising a point of order on Wednesday, Mr Melaye appreciated his colleagues, members of the House of Representatives, his constituents, the leadership of the PDP as well as Nigerians for giving him support during his travails with security operatives.
Mr Melaye, who appeared in the chamber with a neck support, narrated how the Police attempted to kill him during his time in their custody.
However, he thereafter announced he would sit beside former Senate President, David Mark, pending the time a seat will be allocated to him and was thereafter assisted by some of his colleagues to his preferred seat.
