Police Investigating The Alleged Murder Of Traditional Ruler In Enugu
Some Suspects Has Been Reported Arrested Linking To The Murder
The public has been pleaded with to give any information that could help the Police Command in the arrest of a suspect, Chijioke Okenwa and his accomplice in the alleged murder of a monarch in Enugu State.
Recall that Naija News had earlier reported that a former police officer, and Monarch, Igwe Steven Nwatu, the traditional ruler of Ogbozinne autonomous community, Akpugo, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Eunu State, was on Monday murdered.
SP Ebere Amaraizu, the command’s Spokesman, said that a warrant of arrest had been issued against Okenwa and his cohorts. According to him, Okenwa (48) with an average height, dark in complexion, hails from Ogboezinne Autonomous community of Akpugo.
“The command is advising members of the public with useful information about how the suspect can be traced, to report to any nearby police station or contact the command’s telephone numbers of 08032003702, 08075390883, 08086671201 and 08098880172.
“They can also reach the command through its twitter page of @POLICENGEnugu or Facebook address of Nigereiapoliceforceenugustatecommand,’’ he said.
He said Okenwa’s shop address was situated at the DD unit of the Alaba International Market, Ojo in Lagos State. Amaraizu said that besides those being sought, the command had nabbed some other suspects who were helping the police operatives in their investigations.
Over 200 houses were allegedly set on fire by a group in the community loyal to the late monarch.
