Oprah Winfrey Signs Multi-Year Content Deal With Apple

Apple has revealed that it has reached a deal with media tycoon Oprah Winfrey to come up with original contents for its streaming service.

Apple disclosed on Friday that as part of a lineup of original content, the programs will be released worldwide.

Apple is yet to unveil its service, it major competition include Amazon and Netflix.

OWN channel was founded by Winfrey, as chair and CEO. She recently extended her contract with OWN through 2025.

According to OWN spokeswoman, Winfrey has an exclusive on-camera deal with OWN but can appear elsewhere on a limited basis.

Winfrey’s content for Apple will be solely for the streaming service, the representative said.
