El-Rufai Appoints Local Government Council Clerks

Governor Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai has approved the appointments of  clerks for the legislative councils of the 23 local governments.

Naija news also understands that the local government councils in Kaduna State are expected to run on the presidential model, with elected Councillors constituting the legislative arm.

According to a statement signed by Samuel Aruwan, spokesperson to the Governor and made available to Naija news, the governor said the appointments are in line with the provision of Section 16(1) and (2) of the Local Government Law No.3 of 2018, and the Kaduna State Local Government and Staffing Order, 2017.

The appointment of the clerks will enable the legislative chambers of the local governments to consolidate and function efficiently with time.
