LSSTF Receives N50 Million Donation From Fidelity Bank
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has, on Monday, received a cash donation of N50 Million from Fidelity Bank to consolidate the effort of the Fund to ensure security around banks in Lagos State.
Mrs Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, the Executive Director, Lagos and South-West of the bank, who presented the cheque to the Executive Secretary of the fund at Alausa Ikeja, stated that security was very essential for business success.
She added that all the stakeholders in a business environment; customers, business owners,workers etc. would be affected if there are security issues to contended with.
She applauded the Lagos state government for its commitment to the security of lives and properties.
“The Lagos State Government is committed to security, and we decided to support the initiative.
“I have eight branches and more than 2000 staff in Lagos. I don’t want to get call for bad news.
“Anytime I go to sleep, I am worried of their safety. Security is everything. If customers come to our bank, they should be safe.
“We have been seeing Police Rapid Respond Squad vehicles everywhere.
“This gives us sense of security. The fund is doing well, hence, we are supporting more. We will continue to do this,” she said.
Dr Abdurrazaq Balogun, the the Executive Secretary of LSSTF, thanked Fidelity Bank for the donation, which he said came without the state government asking.
While imploring individuals and organization to emulate Fidelity Bank, the Executive Secretary said that the bank have contributed N175 million to the fund since inception.
Balogun added that the fund would go a long way to boost the efforts of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode led Lagos State government to ensure the continuous protection of lives and properties
He also disclosed that the fund will be used judiciously, adding that the fund catered for some 4000 men in Lagos, and more money would help to take care of more projects.
