Gbajabiamila Begs Defecting Members To Reconsider Their Decisions
APC Remains Majority In The House – Gbajabiamila
The Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has expressed sadness over the defection of 37 members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) earlier today.

Naija News learnt that Mr Gbajabialmila expressed his sadness while addressing reporters shortly after the defection.
He described those who defected as being “part of the family“, adding that the doors of the party remained open to them whenever they realise they have made an error to have jumped ship.
He also praised the remaining “committed” members who chose to remain in the party.
He, however, questioned the legality or basis for which the defectors left the party as most of them largely cited the ‘factionalisation’ within the party as reasons for defecting. He said in spite of defection, APC remains the clear overall majority party in the lower chamber.

According to him, the PDP required about 60 more members to overtake the APC to assume the majority party in the green chamber. But given that about 32 defectors actually went to the PDP, the quest for majority leadership was still a far cry for the opposition party.
We assure members and supporters that our great Party will continue to consolidate on our majority status in the leadup to the 2019 General Elections, even as our government continue to work hard to deliver on our promises to Nigerians. – @BolajiAbdullahi
