Just In: Senate Adjourns Plenary Till September 25th
Senate Proceeds On Recess After Defection Drama
The Senate has with effect from today, adjourned it’s plenary for two months after massive defection of fifteen different senators from the ruling All Progressive Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party.
Senate resolves:
1. To demand that the security agencies vacate the Deputy Senate President’s house immediately and allow him to enjoy his constitutional rights;2. That the Senate does adjourn plenary immediately until after the recess.

The adjournment follows recent attacks on the leadership of the Senate. Senate President Bukola Saraki made the announcement earlier today .

The adjournment is part of the prayers of a motion on the siege on Mr Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.
The lawmakers are to reconvene on September 25.
