For alleged non possession of Primary School Certificate, some disgruntled members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has dragged the party’s candidate for the upcoming September 26 election in Osun State, Sen. Ademola Adelekebefore the court.

The members are praying for an interim order to nullify the party’s primary election that produced Adeleke.

The disgruntled members are also asking that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should not be given the name of Sen. Ademola Adeleke as the party’s flag bearer.

Mr. Mathew Ayandokun, the counsel for the applicants prayed the court for an interim order setting aside the election of Adeleke when the  case came up for mention on Wednesday, July 25.

Ayandokun after the court hearing told journalists that his clients were challenging Adeleke in court because he does not possess and has not produced his school leaving certificate.

Mr. Edmond Biri-Omoni, Adeleke’s lawyer, who refuted the claim that his claim has not primary school certificate, stated that it will be proper for him and his client to be put on notice and served with the necessary papers before coming to court.

The application was adjourned by Justice David Oladimeji till Thursday, July 26.

Naija News recalls that Dr Akin Ogunbiyi who scored 1,562 votes, came second in the PDP primary election, losing slightly by seven votes to Adeleke a lawmaker representing Osun West district in the National Assembly.
