Youths Demand More Inclusion Ahead Of 2019 General Elections

Nigerian Youths under the aegis of Not Too Young to Run Movement, stormed the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, yesterday requesting for the party to field young candidates, including the presidential candidate, for the 2019 general elections.

The convener of the movement, Samson Itodo, who addressed the PDP National Youth Leader and Secretary, Sunday Okoye, and Sen. Umar Tsauri on the essence of the visit, demanded the party to conduct direct primaries.

Okoye also urged party leaders not to grant automatic tickets to aspirants or allow imposition, explaining that such would spark crises and derail the democratic process.

Sen. Tsauri and Mr Okoye in their separate remarks, promised to present the demands to the Prince Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee (NWC) for attention, assuring that the party would conduct transparent primaries.

Naija News gathered similar demands where made in some state secretariats across the country by supporters of the not too young to run movement.
