A police station in Osun State has been set on fire by irate youths after an official of the police attached to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), allegedly shot dead a young student named Tunde Nofiu, in the area.

Naija News learnt that the student was spending the holidays in the town and was going to Iwo from Olupona, when he was shot dead on Thursday night and the incident later led to a heated protest.

An eyewitness claims that they were looking for a bike man around Ajangbala, area in Iwo town, on their way home, before the SARS officer allegedly attacked them and shot Babatunde. He died at the scene.
Enraged by the death of the student, the youths of the town gathered together and set ablaze the police station on Friday morning.
