“Suspected Thugs” Cast Votes Into Fire In Lagos State.

Efforts of voters have gone to waste in Isolo as some ballot boxes at Polling Unit 18 located at the junction of Ohafia/Ago Palace Way, Okota in Oshodi/Isolo LGA of Lagos State have been set on fire.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent who witnessed the incident reports that Polling Unit 23 located on Baba-Ewe Street/Ago Place Way was also affected by the fire.

Naija News reports that though no one has been named responsible for the act but the voters have lamented crying out ‘They burnt our votes”,  a witness said that some thugs stormed the polling unit at Ago Palace Way and set the ballot papers on fire and immediately fled in buses.

A witness at the incidence said that the presence of security agencies was not felt as voters and INEC officials were virtually left on their own.

Meanwhile, the Cable reports that security operatives around could not stop the suspected thugs said to be working for one of the two leading parties from carrying out the act.

There were also reports of violence in the Aguda part of Surulere, still in Lagos. Shegun Adams, a Twitter user shared the video below:
