Atiku Breaks Silence On The Arrest Of His Son-In-Law By EFCC
Atiku Wants Justice For Arrested Associates
Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says the continued detention of his associates by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is politically motivated.
Atiku said this in reaction to the arrest of Babalele Abdullahi, his son-in-law, and Uyiekpen Giwa-Osagie, his lawyer, by the EFCC.
Recall Naija News previously reported on Saturday that operatives of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Abdullahi, who is also the finance director of the group of companies owned by Atiku.
Abdullahi, was arrested at his Maitama residence in Abuja.
Writing via his Twitter handle on Monday, Atiku urged the security agents to rather work to ensure justice and peace for all Nigerians.
According to him, “my son in law and lawyer have been detained, one for 3 weeks and the other recently. They are paying the price for supporting me.
“I urge those now persecuting them to remember that a government’s mandate is to pursue peace and justice for all, and not just those who support them.”
