FRSC Impounds 52 Trucks In Anambra
Operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have impounded 52 vehicles in the commercial city of Onitsha in Anambra state.
Naija News reports that he 52 articulated vehicles were impounded for going against traffic rules in the state.
The operation, tagged; “Total War on Truck and Articulated Vehicles” was jointly carried out by the operatives of the FRSC, Police, Army and the Transport Management Agency in the state.
While confirming the report, the Sector Commander in Anambra, Ayodele Kumapayi, told newsmen in Onitsha that the operators of the vehicles violated an earlier appeal by the corps to play by the rules.
According to Kumapayi, some of the articulated vehicles were impounded for speeding, mechanical deficiency, extra/bad headlamps, wrong number plates, worn-out tyres, rickety status, lack of speed limit device, among others.
