Lai Mohammed Speaks On Security Ahead Of President Buhari’s Inauguration
Ahead of the presidential inauguration, the Federal Government has promised that there would be tight security.
FG further revealed that the invitation would be extended to members of the opposition to attend the event.
The development was revealed by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed at a world press conference in Abuja on Monday.
When asked if former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar would be invited he said, “I want to assure you that all those who want to be invited will be invited.”
Lai also spoke on the insecurity in Nigeria and how some people plan to stop the swearing in of President Muhammadu Buhari for the second term in office.
When asked about the protection of the people that would attend the event he said, “We have no reason to doubt the alarm that has been raised the security agencies. But as I said, there’s absolutely no cause for alarm.”
“On the question about the safety of world leader, I assure you, Nigeria is safe. Their security and that of every Nigerian is guaranteed.”
“Even if we are taking [security measures], will I tell you here?”
