Nigerians Reacts As ASUU Threatens To Embark On Nationwide Strike
The threat by the Academic Staff Union of Universities to embark on nationwide strike has received reactions from Nigerians.
As earlier reported by Naija News, ASUU on Thursday threatened to embark on a nationwide strike if the Federal Government fails to implement the 2019 Memorandum of Action.
Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, the National President of ASUU, issued the threat during a briefing with the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.
The meeting was centered around the renegotiation with the government over the contending N25 billion.
Ogunyemi called out Adamu over his claim that the sum of N25 billion has been approved by the Federal Government for university lecturers as Earned Academic Allowance.
The threat has stirred reactions from Nigerians who have taken to their social media account to share their view.

ASSU should be named ABIKU.
Why on earth would university teachers in the country embarked on strike 14 times that makes them stay away from work for about 40months.🙄1999- ASUU embarked on a nationwide strike that lasted 5months.
2001- the strike lasted 3months. pic.twitter.com/Db3TTCYRC1

If this strike should take place, I guess it’s enough time for every undergraduate to discover themselves and start doing something worthwhile cos our educational system in Nigerian is in shambles
