Kaduna Guber: Gov. El-Rufai Wins In Court

The nomination of Nasiru El-Rufai as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State has been upheld by a Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna.

The court in its ruling stated that the Governor of the state was properly nominated as the APC governorship candidate in the 2019 governorship election.

Yahaya Shinko, a former member of the APC, had filed a suit at the court, challenging El-Rufai’s nomination.

He asked the court to set aside El-Rufai’s nomination.

The presiding Judge, Justice Zainab Abubakar, in his ruling held that Yahaya Shinko’s case lacks merit and affirmed the validity of the APC primaries.

The judge stated that the suit was filed beyond the 14 days given to institute an action challenging the outcome of the primary.

She struck out the matter for lack of competence and merit.
