Lagos Pipeline Explosion: Another Victim Dies

The environ of Ijegun, a community in Igando-Ikotun local council development area of Lagos State, on Thursday, experienced a pipeline explosion which earlier saw two people killed and 30 cars destroyed.
The fire was said to have erupted around 5 am on Thursday after some individuals involved in oil bunkering finished scooping fuel from a vandalized pipeline in the area.
However, a victim of the explosion, Ridwan Afolabi, who was hospitalised after sustaining severe burns on Thursday, has reportedly died.
A source close to the family of the deceased revealed that the victim’s family had started plans for his burial.
The source said, “Ridwan is dead, he died around 7 am this morning, but his parents and siblings are still alive and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital. Ever since we brought them here, we have been spending money; we want the government to come to our aid.”
