Nigerians React As Tribunal Sacks Ondo PDP Federal Lawmaker
The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Akure, the capital of Ondo state has sacked Ikengboju Gboluga as the member representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.
Gboluga was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In nullifying his election, the tribunal on Wednesday ruled that Gboluga has sworn allegiance to the United Kingdom having acquired the citizenship of the country and therefore, was not eligible to contest the February 23, 2019, National Assembly election in Nigeria due to his allegiance to the UK.
