The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has set September 13, 2019, to deliver judgment on Atiku Abubakar‘s case against President Muhammadu Buhari. Naija News understands that Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, is challenging the outcome of the February 23 election which President Buhari was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Thursday, dismissed the petition by the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and its candidate, Ambrose Owuru. The electoral body further submitted that the suit by Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress at the February 23 presidential election in Nigeria is a sheer waste of the court’s time.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday struck out an appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its 2019 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. A five-man panel led by Justice Datijo Mohammed struck out the appeal for having become statute-barred.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has revealed why the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, was not declared the winner of the February 23 election. INEC while speaking at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal stated that it is sure that the former Vice President of Nigeria did not secure the highest votes during the election.

7. Popular Herbalist Predicts Victory For PDP’s Atiku At Tribunal

A popular traditional medicine practitioner (herbalist) in Anambra State, southeast Nigeria, Igwe Onyeachonam Ofomba, has predicted that Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, in the 2019 general elections, will win at the tribunal. Naija News recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared President Muhammadu Buhari who participated in the election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, winner of the February 23 Presidential election.
