Breaking News: DSS Arrests Another Activist, Chido Onumah

A Nigerian Activist, Chido Onumah, has been arrested by the Department of State Services, DSS Naija News understands.

Onumah who is a journalist was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport as he returned from Barcelona, Spain, where he bagged a doctorate in communication studies.

Naija News could not confirm at press time why Onumah, who is the brain behind Corruption Anonymous, a whistleblower protection advocacy initiative was arrested.

According to Premium Times, the Journalist arrived via a Lufthansa airline and was waiting for his luggage at about 5:00 p.m. when SSS officials accosted him.

Onumah left Nigeria about three weeks ago to attend a whistleblower conference in Scotland before proceeding to Spain, where he defended his doctoral thesis.

In the last four months since the Muhammadu Buhari led administration started its second term in office, several journalist and activists including Abubakar Idris also known as Dadiyata, Agba Jalingo, Jones Abiri, Steven Kefas and Omoyele Sowore have been arrested and kept in secret detention.
