Afenifere Slams Buhari, Daura

The Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, has condemned the recent revelation that Mamman Daura and his daughter, Fatima have been living in the Aso Rock Villa for about three years.

The spokesperson of the group, Yinka Odumakin said it is shameful that an unelected man, not recognized by the constitution and not appointed into any office could be residing within the nation’s official seat of power.

Naija News reports the daughter of Mamman Daura, President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, Fatima, accused Buhari’s wife, Aisha, of attacking her inside the presidential villa.

She spoke in a recent interview with BBC where she spoke on a video where Aisha Buhari was captured complaining about being denied access to her apartment.

In reaction to the revelations by Fatima, Mr. Odumakin in an interview with Punch on Tuesday, condemned the occupation of the Presidential Villa by the Daura family and her effrontery to grant an interview to a foreign media.

Odumakin said, “It is unfortunate that Nigeria has reached the point where someone who was not elected or appointed and holds no position known to our constitution has become this powerful

“It is a big shame and some of the personalities who are illegally in the Villa are granting interviews. It shows the level of impunity. It shows that our nation and the seat of power have been desecrated.”
