Nigerians React As Buhari Seeks Senate Approval To Pay Yahaya Bello’s Kogi N10bn
Nigerians have reacted to the request of President Buhari to the Nigerian Senate, seeking approval for the payment of N10.069billion as settlement of promissory note to the Kogi State Government led by Governor Yahaya Bello.
Naija News reports the move for payment was disclosed in a letter sent to the Nigerian Senate by the President.
This online news platform understands that Buhari’s letter of request was read on the floor of the Nigerian Senate by Ahmad Lawan, the President of the Senate.
Naija News reports that the request is coming a month to the Kogi governorship election which is slated for November 16 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Meanwhile, this report has sparked a form of outrage among Nigerians on Twitter as many are wondering why such a whooping sum of money should be given to Governor Yahaya Bello just a few weeks to election in the state.

The @OfficialPDPNig therefore urges President @MBuhari to resist attempts by his handlers and Governor Bello to drag his Presidency into this shameful attempt to steal fund that ought to go to the suffering masses in Kogi state.

The senate should wait till after the governorship elections to consider that obnoxious request.
