ICPC Declares Ex-Buhari’s Aide, Obono Obla Wanted
The former chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP), Okoi Obono-Obla has been declared wanted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Naija News understands that the anti-graft agency made this known after several invitations were sent to the alleged ex-aide to President Muhammadu Buhari to come and answer questions bordering on allegations of fraud and corruption.
Speaking further, the Commission also accused Obono-Obla of abuse of office, falsification of admission records, living above his income and collection of gratification from suspects under his investigation.
The ex-recovery boss is also facing allegations of working outside the guidelines governing the panel by investigating unauthorized petitions and prosecuting suspects without recourse to the office of the Attorney General of the Federation.
Meanwhile, Niaja news recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari had suspended Obono-Obla in August, saying the suspension would be in force till the conclusion of the investigation of the ICPC.
