Police Officer Kills Wife, Self In Lagos

A yet-to-be-identified police officer of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has shot his wife dead for allegedly opting out of the union.

A report monitored on The Nation newspaper by Naija News said the police officer shot himself afterward.

Naija News learned that the late policeman lived with his Prison Warden wife inside Prison Barracks on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The report said the ugly incident occurred Sunday night during a fight in their flat.

It was learned that security officials were said to have evacuated the bodies just as most occupants of the building fled for fear of arrest.
