Kogi Guber: UPC Adopts Bello As Its Candidate
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Yahaya Bello, has been adopted by the United Peoples’ Congress as its candidate in the November 16 governorship election in Kogi State.
The Chairman of UPC in Kogi State, Mr Moses Damisa, revealed this development during a news conference at the NUJ Press Centre on Friday in Lokoja.
Damisa noted that the Kogi State Governor was adopted due to similarities in ideologies and manifestos of both parties as well as their developmental objectives.
He further stated that the two parties share common development programmes.
He said the party had watched with keen interest, infrastructural development of the Bello-led APC administration in the state and its determination to do more.
He commended the Kogi State Governor’s programmes on youth and women empowerment as well as poverty alleviation, among other “people-oriented initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being of the people.”
Damisa charged all party members to support Gov. Bello to be victorious in his second term ambition.
The state secretary of the party, Suleiman Raji, noted that arrangements have been made by the party to ensure that its members across the state vote for Bello on November 16.
