Lyon Reacts To His Governorship Victory In Bayelsa
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa State, David Lyon has reacted to his victory at the polls.
It will be recalled that as earlier reported by Naija News, the Independent National Electoral Commission on Monday morning, declared Lyon winner of the 2019 gubernatorial elections in the oil-rich state.
Professor Orunmuwese returned the APC candidate as the winner of the keenly contested Bayelsa election after scoring the highest number of votes in the poll.
Lyon scored a total of 352,552 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, Duoye Diri, who polled 143,172 votes.
Chief Lyon, won six of the eight Local Government Areas of the state while Senator Diri won in just two LGA, which are Sagbama and Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Areas of the State.
Reacting to his electoral victory, Lyon took to his official Twitter page to thank supporters and Bayelsans for voting him.
Lyon wrote: “It’s done, Congratulation Bayelsans.
“Thank you Bayelsans for your unflinching support.”
