APC Remains Number One Party – Yari
Former governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar said the All Progressive Congress (APC) is working to resolve the crisis rocking it.
The former governor made this known while addressing a large crowd of APC members and supporters from the 14 LGAs of the state shortly after a stakeholders meeting of the party in his home town of Talata Mafara.
Yari stated that the APC remained a formidable party to beat despite losing power in the state to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He urged the party supporters in the state to remain calm and law-abiding citizens.
According to the former governor, the party would continue to provide good leadership to ensure peace and unity within its ranks.
Meanwhile, Naija News recalls that Senator Kabiru Marafa had accused some APC governors of plotting to install Yari as the next national chairman of the party.
Marafa, who refused to name the governors, said they want to take over the structure of the ruling party.
According to him, the governors want to make President Muhammadu Buhari politically irrelevant before 2023.
Marafa said: “The fight is not against Oshiomole, it is actually against the president himself. It is only that they don’t have the guts to say it now, but they will when the time is ripe.
“It is evident that the plot to unseat Comrade Adams Oshiomole by a gang of President Buhari’s adversaries has thickened. This plot is merely aimed at hijacking the party structures and handing it over to Yari – who till now is the arrowhead of all the people that harbour a lot of bitterness against the president.”
