Orji Kalu Seeks Post-Conviction Bail Over Health Challenges
The Senator representing Abia-North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, who was convicted of #7.6bn fraud charges and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment has pleaded with the court to grant his a post-conviction bail.
The former Governor of Abia State in an application filed before the court on Tuesday stated that he is battling with health challenges that cannot be handled by the medical facilities in the prison.
Court summons Malami, DSS DG Over Sowore’s Detention
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has requested for the presence of the Nigerian Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, and the Director-General of the Department of State Service, DSS, Yusuf Bichi,over the continued detention of the covener of Revolution now movement activist, Omoyele Sowore.
The court, in a bench ruling that was delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo, ordered the duo to appear and show cause why it should not direct the unconditional release of Sowore from detention. Ekwo said though he would be proceeding on vacation, another judge would continue with the case.

President Muhammadu Buhari who turned 77 today, has declared that he will not favour any member of the All Progressives Congress planning to contest in the 2023 electoral process.
President Buhari, in a statement, promised to present Nigerians with a free, fair and credible election.
FIRS Presented The Vice President With #90bn For 2019 Election -Timi Frank Insists
The former deputy spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, Timi Frank, has insisted that the Federal Inland Revenue Service sponsored the election of the All Progressives by giving the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, #90 billion during the 2019 general election.
The political activist in a statement released charged the FIRS to apoligise for claiming that he was used to fabricate lies against the revenue-generating agency, he further stated that he is a man of integrity.
