Babagana Monguno: Nigerian React As Buhari Meets With Security Chiefs
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday met with security chiefs in a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Naija News reports that the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd.), was absent at the meeting. The meeting between Buhari and the service chiefs which is usually a routine security meeting was tagged ‘special consultation’.
However Social media users are expressing concerns over the absence of the National Security Adviser as many twitter users are of the opinion that the NSA’s absence could be related to his leaked memo addressed to security chiefs, where he accused the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari of interfering with national security.
See some reactions below:
Abba Kyari was standing at the corner avoiding the camera in this meeting. That was after he had decided to shut Babagana Monguno from all meetings and ensure he is replaced! pic.twitter.com/wqr1aOlvDi

For the all indications, COS Abba Kyari won the battle against NSA Baba Gana Monguno, as the president hold national security meeting with service chiefs, but without the presence of NSA Mongunu. pic.twitter.com/ekzS9145Be

Embattled National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno would be finally sacked any moment from now. He has been banned from the villa and a replacement is being considered. pic.twitter.com/oSakZfD9Eh

Chief #TERROR Tukur Buratai orders for the withdrawal of security personnel attached to Monguno the NSA advisor because of his case with Abba Kyari. So now, without the order of the head of state a military commander can withdraw security personnel to a Government officials? @hrw pic.twitter.com/9I5EBC5T3O

At the end, what were the action points? What were the status of implementation of the action points from the previous meeting? When are we going to start feeling the positive impact of having security operatives in this country? Stop wasting tax payers money for nothing

I'm confident that the boko haram insurgency will soon be a thing of the past. Kudos to my amiable President for doing what no previous leader has done in terms of containing insecurity in Nigeria. Carry go Mr President!
