COVID-19: All Real Madrid Players Sent Home For 15 Days Quarantine
A statement recently released by Real Madrid C.F has noted that all players of both Football and Basketball team belonging to the club will be quarantined for fifteen days.
The announcement was coming after a member of their basketball team reportedly tested positive for the Chinese killer virus, codenamed COVID-19.
Naija News understands that both teams do have their training in the same compound. Although, the two teams have their works in different buildings but still in the compound, and hence the need for the action.
The announcement made it known that all players are going home for self-isolate for a period of 15 days.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid football team were expected to travel to Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, March 17 to play Manchester City in the Champions League last-16 second leg, a game that could now be called off.
Part of the announcement reads; “Real Madrid F.C announces that a member of our basketball first team has tested positive for coronavirus.”
“The recommendation of remaining in quarantine has been followed with immediate effect, with this measure applied to both the basketball and football first teams, given that the two squads share the facilities at Real Madrid City.”
