Just In: Lagos Records Another Coronavirus Death
The Lagos State Government has confirmed the death of a patient treating the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
This was made known in a post on Twitter on Sunday by Prof. Akin Abayomi, the Commissioner of Health in the state.
According to the Abayomi, the deceased was a 36-year-old Nigerian, male who died in a private facility on April 4, 2020.
He wrote: “We lost a COVID-19 patient; a 36-year-old Nigerian male, who died in a private facility on 4th April, 2020.
“Total number of COVID-19 patients who have died are now 2.
“One case was evacuated, thus bringing the total number of evacuated to 2.
“Let StaySafe#ForAGreaterLagos.”

Naija News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday confirmed 10 new cases of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
The NCDC made this known in a post on Twitter on Sunday.
Of the 10 new cases, six cases were confirmed in Lagos, two cases confirmed in the FCT, two in Edo.
“As at 11:15 am 5th April there are 224 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.
“Twenty-seven have been discharged with five deaths,” NCDC wrote.
