COVID-19: Fayose Tables Fresh Request Before Buhari
Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to ease the suffering of Nigerians during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated this in a post on his Twitter page on Wednesday.
According to Fayose, the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic has led to the consumption of data by Nigerians.
He urged President Buhari to be kind to Nigerians and reduce tariffs on network and cable TV providers.
“Nigerians have been at home since the beginning of this COVID-19 pandemic, even now that the lockdown is relaxed, causing increase in Data usage,” Fayose wrote.
“Government will be kind enough to prevail on Network and Cable TV Providers to reduce their tariffs to support Nigerians at this time.”
Naija News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had confirmed 148 new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria on Tuesday.
The confirmation brings the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 2950, including 481 discharged persons and 98 deaths.
